Senegal
Senegal pipped Libya 2-1 on Sunday in a warm-up friendly played at the Kintele Concord Stadium in Brazzaville, Congo. Fenerbahçe’s Moussa Sow struck in the first half to hand Teranga Lions the lead, before AFCON 2017’s youngest player, Ismaila Sarr made it two for Aliou Cisse’s men early in the second half.
Libya pulled one back just before the final whistle.
Senegal are pooled in a tough Group B, alongside Tunisia, Algeria and Zimbabwe.
The team will continue with it’s preparations in Brazzaville. On Wednesday they will play their hosts, Congo, christened the red devils. Coach Aliou Cisse is banking on the friendlies to gauge the depth of his squad.
“These two games will allow us to review our squad, try different formations and see how the boys can perform under different condition . It is important to play everybody in these two games,” said coach Cisse.
Senegal start their campaign in Gabon on January 15, when they face the eagles of Carthage of Tunisia.
